Abuela Calle

Abuela Calle

(2020)

Fear, memory and street are the threads interwoven to build this sensorial universe. The street is full of anonymous spaces traversed with fear and rigidity. This project brings into dialogue the city and intimate evocative images, exposing sensitive memory to the streets to recover the ability to inhabit them.
Abuela Calle uses a language based on sensations and emotions, without the intention of a logical narrative: it allows the viewer to create their own story by recognizing points common to their memories.
This is a video installation that covers the concrete with the intimacy of fear, reminiscence and nostalgia, all this striving to become a new living memory of the city.

Project carried out at Emprendimiento Guanábana, incubator of creative projects, winner of the grant for concerted rooms of the Instituto Nacional de las Artes IDARTES October, 2020.
Original concept, art direction and performance: Camila Ivana Vargas Pardo
