Das Letzte Feuer

Das Letzte Feuer

(2021)

What happens to a community after a tragedy? Is grief a collective process? How do we build memory?

This design for Dea Loher’s play Das letzte Feuer (The Last Fire) explores the intimate life of the characters and the different ways of suffering they go through.

Fragmentation, harm, guilt and loneliness translate into an oniric aesthetic, where no space or time can lead the characters, and the constant gaze of the others gives place to a fragmented perspective that sorrounds even the audience.

The stage proposal is based on projections and reflexions on the mirror walls, with a mobile metallic structure that allows actors to develop actions and hyerarchies, and emphazises the lack of intimacy in this town.
