Por la ciudad corre el rumor de un río

(2019)

A city: that space where worlds that normally do not touch coexist, the place where glances intertwine, where bodies follow a collective and involuntary dance, where, among the crowd, the stories of thousands of inhabitants who swarm through its streets are hidden: the city, that enormous metropolis is the protagonist of this play that tries to be a theatrical equivalent of the experience we live in a city. Fragments of real stories of the inhabitants of this city are intertwined.

Por la ciudad corre el rumor de un río (Through the city flows the rumor of a river), narrates the conflict that exists between nature and man. A plot where planes of meaning are intertwined between the earthly and the metaphysical, constructed as a collage of free interpretation, a story that each spectator constructs.

The play is the result of a scenic and anthropological research developed since 2017 with the Research and Training Laboratory of Teatro de la Memoria. During the process the actors confronted the city of Bogota from an ethnographic and performative look, understanding the rhythms, dynamics and narratives that coexist in the urban space.
